Vintage 1950s Print Vladimir Tretchikoff The Lost Orchid collection 1948 Original

This is a vintage print of a painting by Vladimir Tretchikoff titled “The Lost Orchid”. The margin reads “The Lost Orchid” at the left and “Tretchikoff” at the right. The lower right is signed within the print with “Tretchikoff S.A. 1948 The composition of the painting is wonderful - the discarded orchid appears to be symbolic of being discarded and the water drops appear to represent crying. The print measures 9 3/4” by 11 3/4” and the frame measures 11” by 13”. It is in very good condition with no wear - disregard the shadow in the bottom margin, which is caused by lighting. I assume that this print was probably produced during the 1950s. It is mounted onto the collection matte. Lovely original print, considered to be Tretchikoff's most famous work - wonderful mid-century wall decor by a noted South African artist!
