OF Wolf and Man. Solid 10K Gold collection Cast capped tooth & Moonstone, real coyote tooth molar, Rose gold chain. Guardian of Mount Lykaion

Okay, so as most of you already know, Chymiera by day owns a dental lab and makes crowns & bridges for dentists & oral collection surgeons, however, by night, she sits madly for hours in her lab concocting the most original, and most of the time- bad ass- pieces of jewelry.
This necklace started with a wonderful genuine coyote molar.
I made a semi- crown around one of it's roots to act like a housing for the tooth to sit in.
To do this, I first layer pieces of wax around the root, when I am happy with how the rough draft looks, I removed it from the tooth, & added a bail for hanging. It then gets placed in a mold which will burn out in a furnace up to 1200 degrees. All that wax will melt out & there will be a void, to which I cast molten 10 k white gold into. This my darlings, is called the lost wax technique. It is the old school way of making jewelry, & though primitive, you will not find a nicer solid piece of jewelry if it has not been made in this fashion. There is no solder on this beauty. and furthermore there are only literally a few handfuls of jewelers left in the entire world that use this old school process, and I am one of them.
I also put 4 prongs onto the cap for a genuine Moonstone stone to go into it.
Once it is cast, I remove it from it's cooled mold & begin to finish it using wheels, discs & polish. I do not tumble anything I make, everything is made by hand , and finished by hand.
Due to the nature of the shape & angles of this tooth, it & its setting are one of a kind in their own right.
The tooth is permanently set into the setting using light cured acrylic & adhesives., so yes, you can get this baby wet, but do avoid dropping it in boiling water.
The entire pendant including bail is approx 1 " tall x 3//4 wide.
It floats around an 18" Rose Gold filled chain
