Description

Product Name: EAGLE CATCHER - native american, indian, warrior, spiritual, eagle, Sioux, collection Edward Curtis, sunset, spiritual

Inspired by a 1908 photo taken by Edward Curtis. The Hidatsa are well known for their ability to trap eagles. Their feathers were used to make war bonnets or "maicu-mapuka" (eagle hats). Many times only a few tail feathers were plucked and the eagle was released. The eagle is considered a mediator between people and the Creator. Eagle feathers are considered sacred because they belong to a sacred bird. (Hidatsa are part of the Sioux tribe).

In an effort to keep my art affordable, I am offering this canvas print in an open edition size 20 x 10 - for $110.00
