Vintage Henry Stockman Allegheny PA Brass Draft Horse Harness Buckle - late 1800s - from DustyMillerAntiques collection

This antique buckle was for the harness of draft horses and was manufactured during the late 1800s. It is advertising for the Henry Stockman, Allegheny, PA. The buckle is made of thick solid brass. It has a profile of a horsehead in the center with "Henry Stockman, Allegheny collection PA." in a circle. The buckle measures 3 5/8" w x 6 7/8" l. A unique and wonderfully made harness buckle!

Mr. Stockman was born in Germany (1837 - 1903) and came to this country when he was quite young settling in Allegheny. He learned the trade of saddler and opened a store.

The buckle is in excellent condition: the buckle tongue is very rusted. Otherwise, no cracked, broken, missing or repaired parts. Satisfaction guaranteed.
