Mid collection Century Cool James MONT Footed Verdigris Green Lidded ICE BUCKET / Classic Asian Inspired Design and Style / Fabulous Bar Cart Display!

I can't even remember how long I've been looking for one of the MCM beauties - and finally, after years of hunting, my search is finally over!!!

Found recently at an estate sale, this original (and quite stunning) 1960's James Mont designed Footed Verdigris Green Lidded Ice Bucket features a cool Asian-inspired geometric engraved and textured relief design on the Metal exterior of the Bucket (and on its three feet) and that famous thick, opalescent mint color on the Plastic interior lining and Bucket Lid. Mont, who's intriguing (and quite shady) past linked him to New York's Underworld Society, as well Hollywood Royalty, deemed collection himself a "representative of the Orient" and frequently drew upon influences from his Far East travels when designing his signature pieces.

This fabulous piece is in excellent condition, with no chips, cracks, dents or repairs and minimal signs of wear. There are scratch marks (caused by ice cubes and tong use) on the bottom of the Bucket lining (common in pieces of this vintage). It measures 11-1/4" tall and 9-1/2" wide and weighs in at an impressive 6 pounds, 12 ounces. Engraved "MADE IN TAIWAN" on the underside.
