This Backstock Sell-off is a special event, moving out 200 pieces of vintage from the Victorian era through the 1980s! These items have been listed simultaneously, all at special low prices collection. They are sold as-is, some are in need of cleaning or have flaws. Please read the condition notes. Vintage 1930s dress is an elegant gown for any evening event, decadent in jet black rayon velvet. This piece a late 30s design, but I think the ruffles were added about a decade later - I really love the aqua pop of color, so I've left them in place. The entire piece is lined in celanese acetate, so it has more body than earlier velvet. The bodice offers a gathered, divided bust, and a fitted midwaist. The skirt is four large bias cut pieces, which have gorgeous movement and drape, but don't actually drape against the body - it is a more forgiving style than a slinkier use of bias cut. At the back, the attached self-fabric belt snaps closed above little bustle drapes. Finally, there's 1940s pale aqua trim of nylon ruffle, circling the bust and sewn in three tiers to the lining of the skirt - the higher tiers show only when you sit cross legged or twirl as you dance. It's a fantastic addition. The dress closes along the side with a black cloth covered Kover Zip.

This dress is clean and ready to wear. There is a small alteration on the interior right side of the bust nipping it in about one inch. The aqua lining of the ruffles has some soil at the hem that didn't lift with a dry clean. There's a few minor points of seated velvet, nothing significant. I find no other issues to note.
